Joshua N. Kattner is a film composer, sound editor, and producer located in Muncie, IN. Growing up in a family where music was always central, he started out his musical journey pounding notes away on a towering upright in downtown Westerville, OH. His aspirations soon grew to further his experiences when he moved to Muncie, IN as a young child. He picked up the trumpet and soon moved on to piano. After much accomplishment and awards Josh began to write his own music to move through the day. With the early onset of tendonitis, his growing love to write, and the opportunity to compose for plays and small videos, Joshua began to stretch the muscles of film composition and sound. Starting by watching individuals walk across a room and play along to their movements, Josh began moving these skills of “cartooning” characters to the screen and stage creating many compositions for his friends and, very commonly, writing pieces based off of first impressions, leading to the meeting of his wife, Hannah, and the continuation of this fun little activity.

            Joshua now has composed for 40+ films, documentaries, video games, and other forms of media, as well as winning many awards and adorations. Married with two dogs and a post-production sound studio, Joshua writes, collaborates, and continues to work and strive for unique new ways to create, enhance, and innovate on sound in film.
